Boutique Hotel Atrium

The Christmas market trip was made easier by the lobby’s ambiance and the location, but I’d strongly avoid the 6th floor. Half of our room had a ceiling so low that an adult couldn’t reasonably stand there, and it was very warm because heat rises and the hotel only has air conditioning in summer. The elevator stops at the 5th floor, so getting to the 6th meant carrying luggage up a flight of stairs. We asked to switch rooms on our first night and were told none were available. They said we should have checked in earlier or told them our heights ahead of time, 5’11” and 6’3”. I think the low ceiling should have been disclosed when booking. We’d also left our bags from about 11am, so staff had seen us earlier that day. For us, the room wasn’t reasonable to provide at full price.

The reception team were kind and helpful, and they let us leave our bags before or after check-in. There’s also free water at reception. We’d requested a lower floor in advance and were given the first floor, which was appreciated since the elevator only reaches the 5th and higher floors need stairs. Our room was quiet, very clean, and looked onto a garden. It wasn’t large, but was comfortable for a couple staying a few days. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the main station, in the middle of what seemed to be an Afghan district, with shops and restaurants marked as Afghan. We felt it was a safe area, and it was easy to reach downtown and the main sights.

My room was very clean and had a nice view. The Turkish staff at the entrance were friendly, especially Tuğçe, whom I spoke with. The hotel itself was decent; I just didn’t care for the location, though that isn’t the hotel’s fault. July 2025

Breakfast had games for the kids, which I really appreciated, and the service was superb. The hotel felt clean and welcoming, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small, with no fridge and not much storage. We’d definitely like to stay again.
