Hi Munich Park Youth Hostel

I was worried after reading the reviews here, but my stay was generally fine. I had a bunk room to myself, and the staff were great. I booked the wrong day, but the receptionist kindly moved my booking to the day I wanted. Security was kind when I checked out too. The bed came with pads underneath, a sheet, another cover to put on, plus a sheet and pillowcase cover that I had to put on myself. I only noticed the odd hair here and there. The yellow tint of the sheets makes them look old, or maybe it's just not a good color choice. The shower room was okay and cleaner than some hostels I've been in. It didn't feel gross. I'd say the place needs more investment in cleaning staff. With rooms used by fewer people than a typical hostel, it shouldn't be too much to ask management to pay attention to cleaning.

Friendly staff, decent amenities, and delicious breakfast and supper. One of the best youth hostels for a school group.

Really basic but clean, and I'd recommend it to young travelers. It was a bit noisy with all the school groups.

The location is a long way from the city center, with little nearby apart from a few overpriced pubs. At least there's a metro station about a 10-minute walk away. The dining was the worst part for me: poor food, very little choice, and dinner only from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. By 7:00 PM, most of the food was gone, so there was hardly anything left to choose. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, and the sheets were too small to cover even 80% of the mattress. The stairs on the bunks were hard and badly made, making climbing up and down uncomfortable. Showers weren't raised, so the whole bathroom floor flooded after each use. There were no towels or phone either. Staff often came across as rude and unprofessional, reprimanding guests without a good reason. The stay fell well short of basic expectations, and I wouldn't recommend it.
