Hotel Stadt Pasing

The main reason I'd give this place four stars is its fabulous restaurant, with plenty of traditional regional German specialties. The breakfast buffet could have been better, but I enjoyed my stay overall. It's a decent hotel in the historic old town, which makes it convenient.

The area is lovely, with nice houses and parks, and getting around is easy since almost every S-Bahn goes to Pasing stop. The hotel was very clean and neat, and I enjoyed my stay. Hotels in Munich are usually expensive, but this was the best deal I could get at the time.

The room issue was bad enough, but the front desk attitude made the experience much worse. We arrived around 9:30-10pm after a long trip, three of us in all. We had booked a room with a sofa for the third person, but found two single beds instead. The front desk girl brought an extra single bed, which was ridiculous in such a tiny room. She blamed us for choosing two guests, though our confirmation even showed a picture of the room with a sofa. While we were trying to sort it out, she twice told us to go find somewhere else. When I said I'd speak to the Manager the next day, she told me to do that and maybe find another hotel too. The next day, we went to see the Manager, mainly because the front desk service had been so rude. Management said the girl had given exceptional customer service and that telling guests to look for somewhere else was normal at their hotel. The Manager also said she'd read my online review and was mad at me for posting it, and refused to hear us out because I'd left the review. Why is this business still open if it doesn't care about its guests? I'll tell all my friends and famous bloggers about this poor customer service.

It's very quiet, and you can tell it would have been a really flash hotel in its day. It's far from modern, but clean and comfortable. The city center isn't close, though there's a bus stop right outside. Bus number 56 can take you to the train and tubes.
