I travel to the München Messe area for work often and have stayed at nearly every hotel nearby. Exhibition time always sends prices sky high, and on this last-minute trip my options were limited, so I lowered my expectations and booked “MyRoom”, also called “Top Apartment Service”. The location looked good, about a seven-minute walk from the U-Bahn, and I got the check-in code right away. It was a non-smoking room, which seemed adequate for a business trip where I just needed somewhere to sleep. That was about the end of the good part. MyRoom is a handful of apartments on one floor of a large residential building, with door lockers instead of a reception. The building had a strange atmosphere, and some apartments seemed like they might be social housing. In the elevator, a man with completely glazed eyes nearly knocked me over. That may not be the owners' fault, but it was unpleasant. The room was tiny, certainly smaller than the advertised 20 m², and dirty, with crumbs on the floor and bathroom stains. Worst of all was the heavy cigarette smell throughout the room, hall, and bathroom, even with the large “No Smoking” sign. The curtains had cigarette holes and ash marks. I left the window wide open, but the smell wouldn't go away. It seemed deeply embedded, as if people had smoked there for weeks or maybe months. I'm sensitive to tobacco, and even a little smell gives me breathing trouble and irritated eyes. I simply couldn't stay in that room. I tried the owners by message and phone, on arrival night and throughout the following week, but got no reply at all. Booking sent a generic answer to my cancellation request, saying they were sorry and I should contact the property, which wasn't responding. Later they offered €15 if I dropped all claims, despite the room being uninhabitable. The listing didn't reflect what was there, they collected their commission, and nobody seemed to care. I had to find another hotel late that evening, urgently, at three times the original price and on another platform. Fortunately, that booking went smoothly. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same unpleasant experience.

I only gave it two stars because it's near the exhibition site. The room had a metal garden table and chairs, so it wasn't really possible to work there, and the cleaning was poor. I found paper stuck to a pan, a badly clogged shower drain, dust in a corner, a heavily calcified pot, and a stove that didn't work. Glad I hadn't bought eggs.

The location was good, and that was about it. There was dust, dirty cutlery and glasses, and the beds were missing pillows. The shower looked fine, but its head was clogged with calcium and the drain wasn't working. They'd left only half a toilet roll and some soap from a previous guest.

The room was smelly and unkempt, with silverfish and dirt all around. It seemed like room service only cleaned the surface. You get what you pay for, I guess, but it did feel cheap and dirty. Check-in is self-service after 14:00, with no reception. Luckily, the email explained the process clearly and included two codes with instructions. The hotel wasn't noisy. The location is somewhat remote from downtown, though not terribly so; the U-Bahn is a few minutes away, with a large mall by the station and some restaurants nearby.

The apartment had some conveniences: its location made amenities and transport easy to reach, the rent was reasonable for the area, and management answered emails promptly. It also came with most small items and furniture, and the shared app-operated washing machines could be paid for by card. Still, those positives didn't make up for the problems. The apartment wasn't clean when I moved in, despite a cleaning fee of about 150€. The building was overcrowded, with too many units, which brought noise and little privacy. The company also took 750€ from my deposit without giving a valid reason, which left me questioning how fair or transparent they were. The shared internet was painfully slow, sometimes so bad that even voice calls were nearly impossible. The fridge smelled unpleasantly and was unusable. Long hair kept clogging the shower, and residents couldn't clear it themselves, so maintenance requests and uncomfortable waits became a recurring issue. I also had an emergency and needed a Schlüsseldienst (locksmith), which cost an exorbitant 400€. The emergency number said it wasn't responsible for my apartment, leaving me with an unexpected bill. There were some good aspects to living there, but all these issues significantly hurt the experience.
