Downtown Vi Vadi Hotel

The hotel is well placed, close to the city center, station, and Oktoberfest. The staff were friendly and attentive, and checking in and out was quick and easy. There’s direct access to the Italian restaurant of the same name, which serves excellent food at reasonable prices. Vi Vadi Rustico is nearby too, and also very good. We had two three-night stays during Oktoberfest and were in different rooms. The first had an updated bathroom, though the rest of the room needed a few small touch-ups. There were pizza boxes in the fridge, but reception removed them quickly after we mentioned them. The second bathroom needed a complete overhaul, with moisture marks on the door and a broken extractor fan. There were also several holes in the wall paint. Both rooms had two single beds and a rollaway for the three of us. The queen-size beds were comfortable, while the rollaway wasn’t, and the pillows felt like stuffed pillowcases. There’s no air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the window open and could hear street noise. Rooms are cleaned on odd-numbered days of the week, but during our second stay we came back at 4 p.m. to rest and the room still hadn’t been cleaned.

A colleague booked this room through Booking.com because it was advertised with kitchen facilities. When they arrived, staff said using the kitchen already in the room would cost an extra 5-10€ per day. That charge hadn’t been made clear during booking, and being told the kitchen wasn’t available without paying more felt misleading and unprofessional. Future guests should check in advance whether kitchen use is included in the room price.

There’s a mini kitchen in the room, but no cooking utensils are included in the rate. Even a basic small frying pan costs 5 euros per day, something the description didn’t mention. Check carefully when booking, especially if you plan to cook.

The room was clean and close to the city center, but the street noise made it impossible to sleep. We were on the street side, and at check-in I asked for an inner room, but they were all booked. The shower gel and shampoo hadn’t been refilled either. It felt like there was no window at all.
