Romantik Hotel Spielweg

We stopped for a night while traveling from Italy to Germany after finding the place in a restaurant guide. The hotel is large with lots of space, but even with many rooms and guests that weekend it didn't feel crowded. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. The room was spacious and comfortable, with the charm of a classic village house. There are nice areas to relax, including a pool and a separate garden. The pool was rather crowded, but the garden was peaceful, with a small river running by and a sauna outdoors. The restaurant deserves its own mention: classic cooking, very well executed, with fresh ingredients, excellent service, and an outstanding wine list. It deserved the Michelin mention. Parking inside costs extra, while outside parking is free, and there were plenty of spaces. We'll definitely return if we get the chance, even if we have to make a trip specifically for it. The only issue was that our card was charged twice for dinner. It took a while and a couple of emails to sort out, but we got the dinner charge refunded without trouble.

I was here for a business meeting, but I'll definitely come back for a leisure break. The team made us feel thoroughly pampered, and nothing was too much trouble. From the attentive, friendly staff to the amazing food and atmosphere, everything was simply perfect. They made a work trip memorable. Thank you!

we just stopped for coffee and cake, and the Black Forest cake was the best i've had in years, exactly what i'd been dreaming of. the tea was served perfectly, and the service was friendly and great. i'll be back soon. thank you Spielweg.
