The service was warm and attentive, and we'll be back. It’s a charming restaurant with thoughtful decor and a simple menu that has something for everyone. The dishes were nicely presented and really tasty. The Kaiserschmarren was a lovely finish.

Frank Sinatra playing in the background was a nice touch 😁. The service was friendly, and at €30.80 the bill seemed fair. I had soup and schnitzel with cola and some kind of 0% beer. The soup serving was small but enough, with very good broth and croutons. I usually prefer softer onions, though maybe they’re meant to be that way. The main course was generous. There were a few burnt onions under the potatoes, but otherwise the food was good.

I come here regularly with a colleague, and every visit I'm welcomed so warmly. The food is absolutely delicious every time. It deserves more customers, so it’s sad that the restaurant is due to close on July 28th. Hopefully it’s only temporary because of the lack of customers :(

We were so disappointed that we skipped dessert and left frustrated. The onion soup starter tasted like soap and was inedible. My wife’s salmon with boiled potatoes and grilled vegetables was just as bad: too much pepper on the salmon, undercooked baked potato halves instead of boiled potatoes, and burnt-tasting vegetables. My pork knuckle with dumplings and sauerkraut was poor quality and almost impossible to get off the bone, and it had been deep-fried. The sauce was bland. Maybe the schnitzel and burgers are better, but we can’t say from experience.

The restaurant is rustic, and the meal was okay. The sink in the toilet was dirty, which really shouldn't be the case. Lavendel has a new owner, though I can't comment on the rooms since we only ate there. That day the menu was a small sheet inside a plastic sleeve. The server was nice, but seemed inexperienced, and serving guests in loose jeans and a T-shirt doesn't give a good impression. There’s still room to improve if the place is to live up to its online presence.
