I booked a room through a well-known hotel website for about €80, and they canceled my confirmed reservation soon afterward, blaming a problem with my credit card. There was nothing wrong with the card, so I booked again at the same rate using another card. A few hours later, they canceled that one for the same reason. I called the website’s customer service, and they contacted the hotel. They were told the manager “wasn’t there,” the published rate was wrong, and I should try again in an hour. A few hours later I booked the same room at the same price again. Two days after that, I got another cancellation email with the same excuse, even though this time I’d used a debit card. Groundhog day. I booked once more, and two days later it happened again. Then I checked the website and saw the same room listed for over €240 a night. When I contacted the hotel directly to ask why the price had gone up 300%, they said there was a trade fair on, despite having published the room repeatedly at €80 a night over the course of a week and allowing bookings at that rate. What a complete waste of my time. It felt greedy and untrustworthy. I strongly advise against booking here.

The owners were kind and genuinely helpful, but I’d still rate Bova poorly. The room was dim, the heating didn’t work, and there wasn’t an extra heater available. Communication was difficult because nobody, including the owners, spoke English. It feels like a three-star place that needs some improvements.

The internet was very fast, which mattered most to me, and the room was comfortable. Staff were helpful too. Just know the heating isn’t automatic: you have to turn the heater dial yourself. It’s about a three-minute walk from Frankfurt main train station, and I had a good stay.

I come back to Hotel Bova every year to recharge, and it’s an easy walk from there to the city’s attractions. For the location, it’s a bargain. The hotel sits on a quiet street just outside Hauptbahnhof, with clean rooms, a very comfortable bed, and a clean bathroom. The staff are helpful and trustworthy. If you let them, you’ll feel like part of that hard-working familie.

It’s close to the main railway station and Messe Frankfurt. If you just need somewhere to sleep and have breakfast, this place is fine.
