The old building has a really distinctive feel, and we loved the medieval theme and all the crooked little details, including a huge beam running through the floor of the children's room. We stayed there for one night with our family in August 2022 while traveling through Germany. The staff were very kind and helpful, and there was a roomy old-fashioned sitting area outside our rooms with tea and coffee. Our family accommodation had two rooms and a bathroom, but getting up the narrow, steep stairs was a challenge. It may not suit older guests or anyone with mobility issues. The castle breakfast room looked amazing, though the breakfast itself was just okay.

Breakfast was a short walk away at the schloss hotel. There was a decent selection, but the quality was pretty dull, the yoghurt wasn't cold, and we had to ask for refills of nearly everything. We stayed in a charming old building in a very quiet little town. Our group of three had a large room arranged as two rooms, each with a double bed, plus an extra bed in one of them.

I keep choosing these comfortable old wooden suites whenever my travels take me around here. Really nice place to stay.

The restaurant is excellent, and the place itself feels very romantic.
