The hotel's old-fashioned atmosphere was really interesting, and the Christmas decorations looked beautiful. We had a very large family room when we stayed for one night on Christmas Eve. Staff were very friendly, and the fresh breakfast was very good. The dinner menu only had two options because it was New Year's Eve, which was fine with me. The room was cold when we first arrived, and there was a big spider in a corner beside the bed. I hope more attention is paid to cleaning there in future.

We booked the junior suite for three, with an extra bed, during an overnight stop on our way north. The only thing missing in the bathroom was a light over the mirror; there was just a ceiling light. The hotel isn't fancy, but it was affordable and had lots of character in a classic castle setting. The breakfast buffet in the basement restaurant had plenty of great choices, pretty much anything you might want, and was definitely worth the price.

The hotel is genuinely dog friendly, but getting around could be difficult if you have mobility issues, since there are two steps up or down in many places. The location is charming and the town quiet, with good parking. Our room was clean and a good size. At 30 degrees, the plastic armchairs turned into swimming pools. Breakfast was good, but dinner was mediocre and the wine overpriced.

The breakfast was nice, and that's about all I can say on the positive side. I stayed in the Annex (Amthaus), where there was no Wi-Fi or air conditioning, traffic noise came from a nearby road, and there wasn't enough toilet paper. At almost 100 euros a night, it was way overpriced. I hope the rooms in the castle itself offer better value.

There was no Wi-Fi, and even the breakfast was a joke. Everything in the room was dirty: the carpet, curtains, bathroom, and tiny shower. It was a family room, but it smelled like a smoking cafe and had lots of insects and spider webs. This was a complete scam. I travel a lot and can't remember staying somewhere this terrible. I hope this makes things clear for everyone. Please don't get married at this hotel, you deserve better.
