Our room was very clean, with everything we needed, a comfortable bed, soft pillows, and a big shower. The soap smelled nice, too. The old details and all the wood give the hotel a rustic feel, and it's in a cozy village square with a nice ice cream shop. The restaurant serves German staples like schnitzel and Flammkuche, and there's a terrace for eating outside. The staff were very nice. Breakfast is ordered by writing your choices on a list beforehand. I found the coffee terrible, and the fried eggs had far too much salt. Nights were calm, but the church bell beside the hotel rings every half hour from 7 to 22, so we couldn't leave the window open. There is air conditioning. For me, the price felt a bit high for what you get.

The meal in the evening was a classic schnitzel, crisp and nice. Breakfast was ordered the day before, and they brought what we asked for. The woman who runs the house showed us to our rooms and helped us out. The rooms were clean and renovated, and mine had AC. I thought I'd be sleeping in a castle, so it was a little disappointing that we weren't in the castle next door. German was a barrier for us, but things still went pretty smoothly. The hotel is a few kilometers from Koblenz, in a small town with nice views. There isn't much to do there beyond walking around to see the old watchtower or dungeon and a few other sights. Still, it was a pleasant stay.

We stayed in this small town to visit my husband's family, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious, including flaky croissants, yes, in Germany. You order the day before, then go down to the restaurant and it's ready. The AC worked great during the hot weather. We'd definitely stay here again if we return.

The area around the guesthouse is lovely, and the prices are affordable. The rooms are comfortable, newly renovated, and air-conditioned. Downstairs there's a good restaurant with local dishes, and in the morning they serve a tasty à la carte breakfast at the time you choose. Everyone was really friendly.
