The room was spacious, but the shower tray filled up and nearly overflowed every time because it wouldn’t drain properly. We’re careful about water use, and it was frustrating that the water just sat there. We tried guest services from the room, but the phone didn’t work; calling from our own phones didn’t help either. Don’t count on getting extra pillows or even one extra towel.

The biggest problem for us was the lack of a small fridge or any way to keep things cold. We couldn’t save leftovers or chill drinks. Our room was also directly above the car park exit gate, which squeaked and churned whenever someone drove out. Sunday morning was especially busy. Ask for extra pillows as soon as you arrive, too. It’s not bad value when there’s no holiday or price spike, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the inflated rates.

The location is great, and you get almost everything you’d expect from an ibis. It would’ve been even better with an ironing room and a fridge in the room.

It’s an older hotel, but it was clean, the bed was more comfortable than I expected, and the shower pressure was excellent. The room was a decent size; we stayed five nights and would’ve been comfortable staying longer. We only booked about a week ahead, and the price was decent compared with other places. The location works well if you’re exploring the city or taking day trips from the nearby train station. The main station and several trams are within a five-minute walk, and the hotel sits just outside the old town. It’s not luxury accommodation, but it’s a good base.
