The bedroom was a bit chilly, even though the floor heating worked well in the living area. The apartment is 300 meters from the front desk, and there’s no phone or intercom, so asking a quick question means a 600-meter round trip. I found the staff availability limited. The instructions do say there’s no air conditioning or elevator, but I only noticed after booking, and cancellation wasn’t allowed. That was my mistake, and now I have to figure out how to sleep comfortably in Nuremberg in December at zero Celsius. About management’s replies: I wasn’t criticizing the apartment when I said I’d missed the description. Roland, I’m not sure why you’re so worked up. And about carrying my heavy luggage upstairs, I could write whatever you’d like in return, except the truth. We can discuss that offline. Sound good?

The rooms were clean and simple, just right if you’re after somewhere without fuss. Beds could be more comfortable, though you are sleeping in history, so they’re no cloud-soft mattress. We were five, with two rooms: the three kids shared one and the adults took the other. Everyone survived! The price and Old Town Nürnberg location were five stars. You can walk everywhere and leave the map in your pocket, though your legs may complain. It’s not luxury or boutique, but Gideon ticks the right boxes. We’d definitely come back and probably walk even more.

The staff were really helpful, and the room had everything I needed despite its simple European style. Being right in the old city, just a five-minute walk from the train station, made the location hard to beat. I enjoyed my stay and would choose this hotel again. Our room had a lovely city view and was clean. The wardrobe could use a little more space. Staff were very helpful, and because we were arriving late, the clear locker instructions for picking up the keys made things easy. The hotel is very central, with the city center and central station only a couple of minutes away on foot, and public transport is easy to reach.
