Hotel Continental

Yesterday, when I checked in, they told me the cancelled night was no longer valid, so I had to book again and pay 20€ more than the original price. I couldn't stay on the street, so I paid, even though they hadn't kept their word. They got 20€ but lost a frequent customer and damaged their reputation. In this case, the hotel's image was only worth 20€! I'd stayed here many times, but this was my last. This week, I made two Booking.com reservations, one night in a double room and the next in a superior single room. My American Express card wouldn't go through. Since I'm a loyal customer, I wrote on both reservations asking to pay on site at check-in, and they confirmed I could do that for both. A few days later, they cancelled one of the bookings. Because I'm a regular and they'd confirmed both reservations, I trusted them and thought it would be fine.

I only found out there was no 24-hour reception when I needed arrival details. I called at least 15 times over four days and nobody picked up or got back to me. I arrived late in Nürnberg without knowing how to check in, but the three-night booking was nonrefundable and I was charged in full. Booking.com also refused my refund request. I’m really upset that I let myself get drawn into this.

The automated reception makes it possible to check in at any hour, day or night. A pleasant place to stay.

There are only shared restrooms and no showers, but the listing doesn’t say so. I’d call that false advertising elsewhere. Don’t book.
