Leonardo Royal Hotel Nürnberg

The room was quiet, and I slept really deeply during our stay. It was spacious, had a great view, and was clean, with a very nice housekeeper. There’s a warmer in the bathroom, so you don’t get cold after a shower. The hotel is only a two-minute walk from the train station. They gave us welcome drinks even though we forgot to redeem them. It was a great hotel, and I’ll definitely come again if I visit Nurnberg.

The bathroom setup is worth knowing about: its semi-transparent door and layout don’t offer much privacy, and light and sound carry into the bedroom. Apart from that, it was a very comfortable and convenient stay. The hotel is two minutes from the central station, with spacious, spotless rooms that justify the slightly higher price. Staff were very polite and kindly offered to store our luggage after checkout.

The room was a bit cold even with the temperature and fan turned all the way up. Bath towels were so small you could barely dry yourself, and the hair dryer under the sink had a short cable that meant leaning forward to use it. We missed having slippers in the room, though we knew we could ask reception for them. The comfort room was big enough for a couple, with a decent bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable, there were lots of power sockets, and the coffee machine worked well. Staff were helpful, and the room was cleaned every day. The location was wonderful, near hauptbahnoff and aldstat.

The facilities are modern, and the location is excellent, close to the train station and major attractions. Wi-Fi was a little slow but acceptable. I’d planned to give five stars, but one front desk interaction was disappointing. When I went to collect my stored luggage, a petite blonde female staff member handled my bags roughly and dropped my backpack on the floor. At check-in, she had a visible attitude and told me to wait for her colleague, who was already helping someone else, while she acted busy with paperwork. As soon as I approached the colleague, she put the papers down. Fortunately, that other staff member, who was wearing glasses, was incredibly professional and friendly. The first interaction nearly ruined my first impression of Nuremberg and initially made me want to leave a one-star review. The second staff member’s help changed my mind, so I’ve given four stars.
