The room looked nothing like the online photos, and the mattresses were sagging. We’d told the hotel ahead of time that we were bringing a child. The site said children could stay free, but there was no extra bed or sofa bed, only the adult bed, so it was uncomfortable for us. The room was also dirty, with hairs on the floor and even on the sheets. The towels were so worn that I didn’t want to shower or walk barefoot. Both photos of the tiled floor showed lots of hairs too. Street traffic was constant, and the church bells rang loudly for four minutes at 6 a.m. We couldn’t shut the windows against the noise because the room got stuffy. The bathroom door squeaked every time it opened or closed, which was especially annoying at night. The woman on the phone was nice, but our stay was very disappointing.

We stayed just one night while passing through, and it worked out really well. The place is close to the autobahn, parking was easy, and everything had been nicely arranged for us. The host was very friendly, the rooms were tidy, and breakfast was small but nice, so we could get back on the road quickly.

We found this sweet little gasthof while booking after three weeks in France, when we’d come over to Germany for a spa day, and we were thrilled with it. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was 5 euros for as much as you wanted, and supper was awesome. The host was friendly and spoke several languages. There was also a hospitality room at the back where you could hang out. A gasthof is an all-in-one hospitality place, with good food and a hotel. Just couldn’t ask for more.

The description is very misleading. There hasn’t been a restaurant there for a year, and there’s no chef anymore; the beer garden is closed too. Breakfast was very poor, and if you aren’t among the first few people, there may be nothing left. I was very disappointed.

It’s a lovely, peaceful place, with really spacious rooms and great food. They welcome dogs and have a parking lot too.
