I really enjoyed the meal. The ice cream was delightful, and the pork tenderloin was cooked just right.

The service was excellent, and they replied to emails really quickly. We think the owner also cooks breakfast, and he’s always smiling when he brings out a fresh skillet of fried eggs. Breakfast is free, and the €5 per person pass covers the bus and some local tickets, including entry to Rathaus museum. The room package also includes access to the sauna and relaxation area. It was a little pricier than some places, but the amenities made it worthwhile. The hotel is right in Oberstdorf’s tourist area, within walking distance of everything. Our room had a kitchen, living room, and bedroom, though it felt a bit smaller than expected, especially the bathroom.

The food was good, and it came out quickly, but the service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes for menus while none of the waitresses even looked at our table. The candle stayed unlit all through dinner. After we finished, it took at least 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared, and when we asked to pay, another 10-15 minutes passed before we got the bill. There was no attention and a lot of waiting. If you eat here, it seems best to go when there are no other guests, so you get the service you’re paying for.

The breakfast was delicious, the WiFi was fast, and the staff were lovely. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and big, though some felt a little dated and didn’t have AC. I can’t fault the place.
