We had a lovely stay at this charming hostel in a beautiful village. The German-French couple who own it were so welcoming and friendly.

The rooms have been newly refurbished and feel cozy. There's a Thai restaurant across the road.
Such a charming heritage building!
Hotel Römerkrug sits right on the market square, opposite the town hall, making it a handy base for hikes and nearby sights. The rooms are individually decorated, clean, well equipped, and look out over the countryside and Rhine River. The traditional style comes with modern comforts. The TV could be larger, though you're not there to watch TV anyway. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast had a good range of essentials to start the day. There's also an excellent Thai restaurant across the street. A stay at Hotel Römerkrug in Oberwesel is a must, and you'll see why I'm so enthusiastic.
We had a small but nicely renovated room with a four-poster bed, and the bathroom had also been redone. The hosts were lovely and the owner gave us a warm farewell. Breakfast was served with freshly made fruit salad and scrambled eggs, plus delicious cheese and ham. The butter and jam were packaged, though, and the yogurt was store-bought. Given what the food industry puts into those products, they should be avoided. The Oberwesel wine market was happening right outside the hotel, so we couldn't use the terrace or try the hotel's food. We can happily recommend the newly renovated Römerkrug.
