Patentkrug Design Hotel

We couldn't recommend this hotel after such a disappointing stay for a relative's wedding. The frontline staff were kind and keen to help, but the management decisions and neglected basics made it fall short of what you'd expect from a self-proclaimed 4-star hotel. The wedding was in July, and despite the summer heat there was no air conditioning. The room got uncomfortably hot, and hot soup was served. Childcare was set up in an open, sun-drenched field with only a small tent for shade, which showed little consideration for the children or staff. Behind the bed, years' worth of dust had collected, making it seem like the room hadn't had a thorough clean in a long time. Breakfast was another letdown: I found rotten fruit at the buffet, and the only kids' menu option beyond that was fries. In our room, the TV apps repeatedly failed to connect to the internet, so we couldn't stream Netflix or anything similar. Even with the 'clean room' sign on the door, nobody serviced it, and dishes from the previous night were left untouched. The shelf under the TV was visibly crooked and messy. The staff did try to help, but the poor management and lack of basic comfort made the stay much worse than it should have been. I hope the management fixes these problems soon.
