The owners are very friendly, and you can ask them for a detailed hiking map of the area. The trails are clearly marked once you're on your chosen route, so there's no risk of missing a turn. We come back every year, and after 3 years we've never been disappointed. It's perfect for a hiking holiday, with the forest just a 5 min walk away. The Brilon apartment is cozy and immaculately clean.

Everything is provided in this clean, pleasant German apartment, with a bakery just around the corner. The friendly owner made us feel welcome, and getting to the ski slopes by car is easy. Willingen is 8 km away, with Lidl, Rewe, and a drinks supermarket there. Winterberg is 18 km away.

The narrow waterside terrace only catches the morning sun, so I missed having a private outdoor area. The apartment itself is friendly and adequately equipped, and the village is a lovely base for several scenic, well-marked hikes. There isn't much else there, though: a good bakery, a small supermarket with limited hours, and the Hofbrouwerij brewery terrace in the afternoon, where you can also sit inside for a snack.
