Hotel zur Mühle

The hotel's location is very good, but there are several other hotels nearby that may treat guests better. I wouldn't recommend staying here. We were there for four nights with our dogs. On the first morning, one of them tried to pull something from under the bed, and we found a condom wrapper. It made me think the room hadn't been cleaned properly before we arrived. Later that morning, I saw a used condom on the pavement about 100 meters from the hotel while walking the dogs. That wasn't really the hotel's responsibility, and at first I found the whole thing more amusing than anything. I thought perhaps they had just missed cleaning under the bed. Then on the third night my phone slipped between the bed and wall. We moved the bed to get it and found another condom underneath. Who knows how many more there were if we'd moved it all the way. There was also a strong sewage or fecal smell coming from the bathroom drain. It bothered us enough that we kept the window open most of the time. The weather was good, thankfully, or it would have been very uncomfortable. When I told reception, they said they couldn't know whether the condom was ours or had been there already. That felt ridiculous, as if they were suggesting I was lying. They charge €20 per dog per night for extra cleaning, which felt absurd given that the room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly before we arrived. After we reported the condoms, they offered a small discount and charged us for one dog instead of two. That did nothing to reassure us about the cleanliness or make it seem like staff were genuinely trying to improve our stay.
