Hotel INNSENTO Passau

The location turned out even better than we'd expected. It's over a kilometer into town, but there's a path right by the river that avoids the busy road and takes you straight to the bridge and be Old Town. We loved the peaceful walk into the city centre and not having to stay or park there. A supermarket next door was handy, though it's closed on Sundays. We liked the hotel and town so much that we stayed an extra day. Reception arranged it in the middle of the night, and everyone there spoke excellent English and was friendly, kind, and capable. It was probably the best service we've had in Germany. We're already planning to come back. The air conditioning was a big reason we were so comfortable. It's hard to find in Germany and isn't even a searchable amenity on Booking, which is insane. Temperatures were up to 38C/100F in June during our stay, so the AC felt necessary. The huge king-size bed was comfortable, the linens were nice, and the blackout curtains let us fall back asleep after we woke to hallway doors slamming early in the morning. We didn't hear the other guests through the walls. The room also had a mini fridge, desk, and kettle. The bathroom was really tight, though I'd have traded some room space for a bigger one. The water pressure and temperature were excellent, and the furnishings and fittings were nice. The TV was giant, but without streaming or a way to plug in a USB because it was mounted close to the wall, it wasn't much use to us. We had no balcony, but it would have looked over a street and parking lot, so it wasn't something I'd pay extra for. There are two paid parking options. The spaces out front were very small and cost €5 or €6 a night. We chose covered parking for €15 a night, which had bigger spaces and protection from the weather.

We only stayed one night and slept well. Check-in was very friendly, and the hotel is pet friendly. The amenities are basic. I was surprised that the restaurant menu didn't have an English version, but everything else was okay.

A good, healthy place for bicyclists, with a warm, dry sauna. The rooms were clean, and you're within easy reach of the central city.

A handy stop for a short stay or a good night's rest while traveling the A3. It's easy to reach from the highway, close to the river and centre, and looks out over the sights. Having parking and a dog-friendly place was really important to us. The staff are helpful, and the 24/7 reception is lovely when you're traveling late and still get greeted by someone who can help. There's a supermarket right across from the hotel and a green hill beside it. The room size is reasonable, the beds are super comfy, and there's a huge TV. Blackout curtains and shutters make it easy to sleep in. I'm a bit sensitive to noise, so a room near the main road can feel busy and loud, and the corridors can get noisy too. My earplugs blocked it out, though. I'd definitely recommend it.
