Ibis Budget Muenchen Putzbrunn

We were stopping overnight on our way north. The place was very clean and well run, with a great location and budget-friendly price. The manager was great, and his dog was beautiful. We skipped breakfast, though it looked very good, and got a fresh coffee for a reasonable €2. We'll stay here again on our next trip south.

The hotel is worth the price, even if the one-star rating puts you off. We booked just two days ahead for the Adele concert, so it was relatively cheap compared with the doubled and tripled accommodation prices at that time. It was also convenient, about a 20-minute drive from the stadium. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet over the weekend despite being next to a sort of workshop, and the Wi-Fi and TV worked well. The door opens with a code. We didn't try breakfast. There are machines for snacks and drinks, and the room reminded us a lot of a cruise ship cabin. There was no coffee machine, kettle, or bottled water in the room, but we hadn't expected those at a one-star hotel. The main drawbacks were that check-in hours are limited and there's no reception staff at some times. When the hotel is full, the free parking fills up too. We weren't sure whether we could park elsewhere nearby, and there was nobody to ask late at night.

Ibis is about the bare minimum for a budget price. That changes when there's a trade show at Messe München, when a night costs € 150 and the room feels like a prison cell.

It's a basic hotel for one night or a few days. The staff are super friendly, and the room was clean, though small. The shower is close to the bed, while the toilet has its own little room, thankfully. Breakfast was simple but good. There isn't much around besides a restaurant.
