Hotel Restaurant Seegarten Quickborn

We found the place charming and were pleasantly surprised by how well it has been kept, even though it's not new. The outside and foyer look dated, but the halls and rooms are spacious, spotless, and full of character. It's remarkable how little dirt or dust there is. Other hotels could learn from that. You can see the upkeep takes real work. The rooms are freshly painted, and it looks like they repaint regularly. I noticed paint on the owner's hands. I think two people run the hotel, and it's nice to see how much care they put into maintenance and service. The bathrooms are just as hygienic, with no spots or mold, clean showers, freshly painted walls above the tiles, and fresh silicone in the shower seams. For only 7,5€ the breakfast is very complete: eggs, bread, cereals, a good choice of cheeses and meats, jams, several yogurts, juices, coffee, and more. Plenty of hotels charging twice as much don't serve half as much or offer the same service. My only small complaint is that a second pillow would've been nice, though I'm sure they could have provided one if I'd asked. There's a little lake outside, good for a walk or taking the dog out. It was perfect for a night while passing through, and we'll definitely come back next time.

A nice hotel with good parking, clean rooms, and helpful staff. Great with dogs, and there's a pleasant area around the hotel for walks.

The breakfast was very good. It doesn't have a huge selection, but what's there is fresh and satisfying. The rooms mix vintage German style with high-tech bathrooms. Cleaning-product smells linger in the hallways, while the rooms themselves have a strange smell. The day before I arrived, I was told the restaurant would be closed for a private gathering. Children aged 3-6 from the party ran up and down the hallway screaming. Three stars.

For a double room costing €120 a night, the upkeep was very poor. The beds had horrible mattresses, and the pillows, sheets, and blankets all felt like the cheapest kind. Water wouldn't drain from the bathtub, and the hair-dryer was very old. The doors were awkward to open and took up all the room in the small entrance. Breakfast was just some eggs, a few vegetables, and sliced ham.
