My sister and I spent two nights there last weekend and came away really pleased. The owners are very welcoming, and we felt at home right away. Our room was spacious, bright, and spotless, well beyond what we expected. The door squeaked loudly when we arrived, but after we mentioned it to the junior manager, it was fixed by the time we got back two hours later. We chose not to have breakfast because €20 per person was a bit too much for us, and that was fine. It was a lovely weekend, and we’d definitely return. Thank you! ☺️ April 2026

We chose the country hotel because we wanted a good base for cycling tours, and Ratekau is ideal for that despite being a small town. The property was spotless and well maintained, and our room was perfectly fine. Breakfast is brought to the table with care, with plenty of options for everyone. We were very happy with our stay and recommend it.
