Hotel Am Peterstor

The staff were very hospitable, and the hotel sits conveniently between the train station and the local sights. My single room felt a bit snug compared with other single rooms nearby, but it was well appointed and had a generously sized bathroom. A good choice for a short stay.

The hotel was clean and close to the train station and shops like Edeka. The reception staff made the stay memorable. The woman there was exceptionally friendly, disciplined and dedicated, and the lady at checkout was so kind and motherly. She even gave me a bottle of quality water to take along. I’ve never experienced that level of hospitality. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m in that area.

We had a great couple of days in Regensburg. Our room was clean, cozy and quiet, and even the dogs liked it. The woman at reception was lovely, helpful and had a good sense of humour. Thanks for the good time and restful sleep ❤️

The positives first: the hotel is close to the main tourist spots, and there’s a discounted garage behind it, a few minutes’ walk away. It was fairly convenient and had several electric charging spots. Breakfast was good, the room was relatively clean, and the windows insulated well. But the noise was a serious problem. The walls, ceiling and side walls seemed paper-thin, with practically no soundproofing, and it made it hard to sleep or stay sane. The rooms are very basic and have a cheap motel feel. The heating also wasn’t enough for us. We had it turned all the way up and were still a bit cold. There’s a club right behind the hotel, by the garage. The area felt somewhat hostile, with lots of drunk people around, and the next morning there were leftover rubbish and people from the night before on the streets. We had a mixed experience with the woman at reception too. When we reported the noise, she offered no alternative or real help. We were driving back from Austria and needed a night between Berlin and our trip home, so Regensburg seemed like a nice stop. I’d avoid this hotel if you can find somewhere more relaxing and comfortable. Maybe a top-floor room or one of the separate rooms at the back would be quieter if you’re lucky.
