The next day, when I went to ask what had happened, the receptionist blamed me. They said the hotel didn't have my email, so it couldn't send a check-in code. I booked through Der Hotel agency, which makes it sound as if guests booking through an agency can't get the code. That can't be right. They also claimed the issue was with me or my phone, and that was why the hotel hadn't received my call. But I had proof my phone was working: at the same time, I called another hotel after being stranded, and they answered. If A+B=NOK and A+C=OK, how can A be the cause? Basic logic, please. The receptionist also lectured me about how I should contact the hotel, as though I were in kindergarten. For context, I completed my Diplom education here in Germany and have been to ca. 25 countries and countless cities. I don't need that advice. I arrived at 1 a.m., but hadn't received the self check-in code in advance, so I couldn't get in. Nobody answered when I called, and I had to walk another 20 minutes to a different hotel at midnight. I canceled my reservation for the coming week and will email all my colleagues to warn them. You're welcome:)

We were a family of three and liked the hotel a lot. The rooms were very clean, with interesting decor, and it's very close to the train station. There was an open-air concert nearby for the city festival, but the well-insulated windows kept the noise out.

I've stayed here more than three times, and otherwise everything is fine. The breakfast restaurant staff could be cheerier, though, instead of always looking grumpy. Also, across all three stays I couldn't get even a simple tomato ketchup with breakfast. It shouldn't be so hard to arrange.

We booked four double rooms without any trouble, and the staff were pleasant. The rooms were cleaned well every day while we were out. The only missing thing was a mini fridge.

For a room near the railway in Reutlingen, RiKu is a good above-average choice. The rooms are fairly basic, with no coffee-making facilities, but finished to a high standard. The shared area is simple too, though nicely decorated, and the self-service machine is handy for drinks and snacks.
