Hotel Am Wasserturm

A very remote, basic place.

We've returned to this motel for years, so it has a nostalgic feel for us. The amenities are standard but clean. The TV kept switching itself off, though, and we had to turn it back on again and again, which was annoying. There's a good breakfast at the bakery right next door.

The room felt cold, musty, and unloved, and the TV was broken. It wasn't properly cleaned either: hair on the bed, food scraps stuck to the table, and a dirty floor. Absolutely outrageous at that price. Definitely my first and last time here!

The staff are very friendly, and if you arrive late at night, you get the key from a terminal. You should call ahead. From the outside it looks like an old American road motel, which is pretty cool. Inside, though, it's dated, and the heating doesn't work properly. It probably needs bleeding. Breakfast was good, especially for the low price. It's a typical budget hotel, so don't expect much. Some rooms have a nice big balcony.
