DOCK INN Hostel Warnemünde

The suite's record player and vinyl collection made the stay feel especially fun, and the Fine Cream Fish Fillet Suite itself was comfortable and stylish. Breakfast was another highlight, with lots of fresh, tasty choices. The staff were friendly, and DOCK INN Hostel Warnemünde is well placed for exploring Warnemünde. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it.

The facilities impressed us at first, and the two women at reception were great. The trouble started when we came back to our room around midday on checkout day. We'd paid for a 1 pm late checkout at check-in, but someone had been in the room and our card no longer worked. We assumed it was a mistake and went to reception to explain. A new male receptionist was there. Instead of checking what had happened, he snapped that checkout was at 11 am. We reminded him we'd paid for late checkout, and he went quiet, took our keys, then said, “ok it’s done.” No apology or kindness. During the next hour, someone knocked to say we'd overstayed, and we also got a phone call telling us to check out. It was baffling. When we went down at the time we'd actually paid for, that same employee refused to speak to us. The other male employee who handled checkout was nice, to be fair. I can't recommend the hotel when an employee can treat guests so rudely and unprofessionally. I also saw other one-star reviews mentioning a rude blond male employee, so it seems to be a pattern.

We found everyone kind, from the night security shift to the breakfast team, and the owner was a relaxed, nice guy when we got to chat with him. The staff even lent us bicycles for an hour at night, and let us park in front of the hotel parking area for an hour for free. The room had a cool, unusual design and was comfortable enough both for sleeping and relaxing. It's a nice hotel with a creative feel, and the breakfast was good at 14,90 per portion. Use of the sauna and spa was included in the hotel process, and they were open until 11 pm. Thanks for everything!

A lovely kitchen if you want to cook for yourself, and there's a place to store your bike too. A great spot to stay.
