We were so glad we picked this place. It’s quiet, comfortable and clean, and having a parking lot is a real bonus. The history is reason enough to stay here, especially if you don’t often get the chance to sleep in a hotel dating back to 1536. Just be ready to carry your suitcase up a flight or two. Breakfast was at the sister hotel Breitelre, a short walk away, and it was delicious, plentiful, and served by great staff.

We picked this hotel mainly because it has parking out back, so we didn’t have to haul our bags across the cobblestones from outside the old city. The location is great, and the rooms are clean with wonderfully fluffy, comfortable pillows. The building has been beautifully restored. Check-in is unattended: enter a passcode and collect your key from a lockbox. The hosts respond quickly by text. I’d stay here again.

My family had a great stay. The rooms are rustic and very quiet, and the breakfast was generous. The host even went out of their way to let us use the dining area over Christmas. My only reason for taking off a star was the parking charge. It was reasonable, but I wish it had been explained more transparently.

The owner was helpful and accommodating throughout our stay, and even packed sandwiches for us to take on the train to our next stop in Germany on our last morning. We also loved the breakfast. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the location in Rothenberg ob der Tauber made this a great bed and breakfast for a few nights.
