The included breakfast was a highlight, with lots of choice and good quality: eggs, breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, cereals, yogourt, and tomato and mozzarella with balsamic. Staff were friendly and the service was great. We stayed in September as a family of 4, and liked the mix of old-world charm and modern updates in this family-run business. Our loft room had the bathroom on the entry level and the bedrooms upstairs. That layout was unusual but worked fine, with plenty of room for 4 people, good amenities, and a clean space. The location was fantastic, within walking distance of everything. We were a little unsure how to get in because we were arriving late, but it worked out fine. Just arrange access in advance.

The hotel is in a fabulous spot. We could park there, walk to the river in under 5 minutes, and stroll into the downtown area. By the river, you can catch a tour boat, browse for souvenirs, or stop for coffee or gelato. Walking around town was beautiful. We arrived early in the afternoon, a few hours before check-in, and I was able to leave the car in a public lot, walk to the hotel, check in early, then move the car into the hotel parking lot. Having parking there was extremely convenient. The breakfast spread was delicious, with so many hot and cold choices that it was almost too much to choose from. Honestly, at another hotel you might pay an additional $30 for a breakfast like that. The breakfast staff were super nice too. Our room was a nice little junior suite on two floors. The living room and pull-out sofa bed were downstairs, while upstairs there was a larger room with a desk, bed, and bathroom. The upstairs had air conditioning, but downstairs didn’t, so it was warm to sleep there. Overall, we liked the room. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. I emailed a few times before arriving and always got a response. Elfie checked us in, and she was lovely. A gentleman at the front desk patiently explained the boat tour options and places to visit in town. He made everything easy to understand.

Our family room worked perfectly for our group of 2 kids, ages 1 and 4, 2 parents, and 1 grandmother, age 70. It was excellent value, with big beds and plenty of space, and everything was sparkling clean. When we checked out, our 4-year-old didn’t want to go and declared it “the best hotel in the WHOLE WORLD.” The staff were lovely with the little kids, and check-in and reception were wonderfully helpful. Communication was good even before we arrived. Breakfast had a nice variety. The location was perfect too, with the best restaurants a short walk away and a fantastic winery for tastings just across the street.

We liked our stay so much that we added a second night. The staff were very friendly, and we felt comfortable. The building is unique and vintage, with a lift, a lovely courtyard, and plenty of history. ✌️🌈
