Hotel Traube Aumüller Rüdesheim

The breakfast was fabulous and great value for money, with a lovely view of Rhein from the breakfast room. My room was very clean, and the hotel was quiet and in a great location. The staff were friendly, and I felt so relaxed here. I had a wonderful time and will definitely come back.

The best thing about Hotel Traube in Rüdesheim is its location near the center of Ruedesheim, with a car park next to the hotel. The welcome at reception was also very nice and helpful. Still, I haven’t stayed in such an unsatisfying hotel for a long time. Our room was tiny, and the bathroom was so cramped I could barely turn around. The interiors were very old. The curtains were especially dirty, and some dining room cushion pads were broken or patched. I could hardly sleep because I could hear the train all night, even with the windows shut. Breakfast was basically okay, with sausages, ham, cheese, eggs, coffee, tea, and juice, but nothing special. I was supposed to stay twice, but had to cancel one booking. I received confirmation of the cancellation and a refund receipt, yet the refund never came through. Very strange and disappointing.

We paid for Hotel Traube Rudesheim, but it seems we were put in a neighboring building instead. The rooms we got were nothing like the ones shown on the hotel's website: they were outdated, with stained carpet and a stale smell. We were worried enough to pull back the sheets and check for bedbugs, then found a urine-stained mattress. We considered turning it over, but the underside was even worse. At the front desk, we got excuses for the difference. First they said we had booked a triple room. When we showed them the beautiful triple rooms on their site, the explanation changed to a large tour group making those rooms unavailable. We were promised one thing and got something completely inferior.

From our room, we had a beautiful view of the Rhine. Housekeeping kept it spotless, and breakfast was included. The lox was fresh and the brotchen delicious. The employees were cheerful, polite, and good at their jobs. The room was a little small, and English-language TV was limited to news channels, but after all, it’s Europe.
