Hotel Meran Hallenbad & Sauna

The seventies retro look is part of the charm here. The original chairs, lights, breakfast room, and other details all fit the style. Staff were customer focused: they let us store our bikes and leave our luggage so we could explore the area the next day. The room was very clean, and the pool was a great extra :D

The service here was excellent, with friendly, helpful, extraordinary staff. It's hard to find that in Germany anymore. A big thank you to everyone, and to Sara for the perfect cleaning. The building dates from the seventies and looks it inside, but the cleaning was spot on. At the breakfast buffet, we had lovely chats with Nina and were so happy to get extra croissants and pancakes ^^ The pool is tiny and dark because it's in the cellar. The reception gives out as many sauna towels as you want for free, and we could easily swap them for fresh ones. Receptionists were there continuously until 11pm. The 90° sauna is tucked into a nice little corner where guests can respect each other's privacy, and everyone did so politely. There are several cool showers for freshening up afterward. We enjoyed it a lot. The location is perfect, next to a supermarket, pizzeria, ice-cream shop, and tram, and 5MIN from the SAAR. For something better, you'd need to pay triple the price.

The hotel is quite old and far from the city center, and smoking is allowed inside. My single room was terribly small, and the internet kept fluctuating. It may be fine for tourists, but definitely not for business travelers. The older man at reception was nice, friendly, and very helpful.

It's easy to get to the city center on foot or by tram, so the location is good. But the rooms are poorly soundproofed. I could hear my neighbors snoring, talking, and flushing the toilet through the wall.
