The little creek behind the house and all the green around it were a real highlight. We were there as a couple with two weiner dogs, and all of us loved the place. It’s an old watermill, with its original features still inside, but it’s cozy and has central heating. There are cows and trees around, and it’s very quiet. You can hear the road, though it didn’t bother us at all. We slept like rocks, with no noise disturbing us at night. Rewe, Lidl, and Aldi are about five minutes away by car, door to door. Upstairs, the bedroom has a twin bed and a single. Downstairs, there’s a double bed that folds out from the couch. The kitchenette is basic but well equipped with a coffee machine, pod machine, kettle, pans, cutlery, oven, and microwave. There’s no dishwasher. The shower has great pressure. Tall people might have trouble with the low doorways and other low features in the house. There’s one large round table and another regular table. Heino has stayed here too, which was a fun little detail. For hikes, we liked Rothenbachschlucht, Zweribachfalle, Drei-Schluchten-Halle, and Teichbachschlucht. Drei-Schluchten-Halle is especially good, but bring proper hiking boots. I’d skip Triberg. It’s still very touristy, and you have to pay to see the waterfall. I went years ago and it hadn’t changed.
A charming, unusual little house, just right for a few days away. It was clean and had everything we needed, and the host was friendly.
We had a warm welcome at this beautiful old mill, which has been restored and furnished with real care. There was even a lovely welcome gift waiting inside. We stayed with our two dogs and our two-year-old son, and childproofing was no problem at all. A glass panel in the downstairs room lets you see the mill mechanism, and it can be lit up. Turn the big tabletop above and the mill moves below. It’s such a lovely detail. If you want peace and quiet, this is the spot for you. We’d love to return ♥️
The mill is lovely, and the owners made us feel welcome during our week there. It was me and two teenagers 🙄. The listing said Wi-Fi was available, but there wasn’t any. I was fine with that, though the kids were a bit bothered, so I’ve taken off one star. Happy to stay again. Next time I’ll leave the kids at home 😃.
It’s a detached cottage, with no neighbors nearby, and very quiet. The road is 400m away. The place is an old watermill and has all the amenities.
