A lovely spot, lovely people, and mostly lovely animals. There’s plenty to see and do nearby. We went pony riding every day, either with Elsa or Maxl. Great for the whole family, I recommend it.

We’ve stayed at the Meininger Farm three times now, and our fourth trip is already planned. The horses are handled in such an easygoing way, and there’s a big fleet of vehicles, animals of all sizes, lots of activities nearby, an indoor playground, and a complimentary drinks bar. Our kids are 2 to 7 years old and all feel right at home. I think there’ll be enough to keep them busy until secondary school, though after that you’d probably need to plan more excursions. 🙂 We’ve stayed in Haus Bär and the Hirsch apartment, and liked both. Haus Hirsch is very central, with a terrace overlooking the farmyard, which is handy with small children. Haus Bär is at the far end of the farmyard, so you don’t hear as much from the children. That could be a plus or a minus. 5 stars 🤩
Our dog was welcome everywhere, and the whole group enjoyed playing games together in the lovely common room in the evenings. We had a wonderful week at this charming, family-friendly holiday farm, with plenty to do for younger and older kids alike. The play barn was only a short walk away, and we all had a great time there. Handling the ponies ourselves was fantastic, and the children even liked mucking out the stalls. The spa area was wonderful, and the massage was pure relaxation. We’d love to come back. Best regards, Bianca, Lars, Lilia, and Ares.
There was something new to discover all over the farm, and our older child especially loved walking with Max the pony. The bear’s den had plenty to play with, and the activity card let us use several attractions for free, including the summer toboggan run and treetop walkway. The sauna was a great bonus for us parents. We spent a week here with our two kids, aged 3 and 1, and had such a relaxing holiday. We’d love to come back!
We’ve stayed here twice now and were quite satisfied. The family’s next generation has put a lot of money and effort into making the accommodations more attractive and modern. The apartments are roomy, clean, and lovingly furnished. It’s an old farmhouse, so some imperfections are to be expected, though they don’t spoil the overall impression. The common room has free drinks and games for all ages. You can tell the setup is aimed at families with younger children, which can lead to a few minor disagreements now and then. The relaxed way the horses are handled is interesting, but may feel a little intimidating if you’re an inexperienced rider, and sometimes you might wish for a bit of moral support. All in all, I’d clearly recommend it, especially with so much to do in the surrounding area for a successful vacation.
