Grashöfle

The big garden is beautiful, with lots of inviting places to sit and relax. This cozy guesthouse is full of thoughtful details, and Mrs. Scheel's friendly manner made us feel welcome right away. The setting is an ideal base for lovely hikes. A real gem in the beautiful Bavarian Forest, and we'd happily return.

We chose Ms. Scheel's Grashöfle on a whim and were greeted so warmly. She made everything easy, and even had a welcome package for our dog. The apartment was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. Its lovely garden is just right for anyone looking for peace and time in nature.

Grashöfle is a lovely place to visit in any season. Bettina Scheel has made this farmhouse into a wonderful home for her guesthouse, where anyone seeking peace and comfort among the Bavarian Forest's natural beauty can feel at home. Bettina Scheel is always ready with advice and help, and her hospitality is professional. The meals are especially generous and varied. Grashöfle stays in your memory as a Bavarian gem, and you're already thinking about another visit as you leave.

We couldn't have the shared breakfast during COVID, but when it starts up again it sounds like a special experience, quite unlike the usual guesthouse or hotel breakfast. The apartments are beautiful, set in an old farmhouse that's been converted and renovated with real style, practically in the heart of the Bavarian Forest National Park. Hiking trails start at the house or are a short bus ride away. It seems ideal for a spring or summer break, though I can't say how it is for winter sports. There's a large natural garden with lush plants and a small pond, almost like a private oasis. Bettina Scheel was warm and very helpful. She has also created a little "market of beautiful things" in the house, with sustainably sourced items for your well-being. The felt and indigo-dyed pieces especially caught my eye. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back.
