Our room suited us perfectly, and the staff member we saw most often was friendly and accommodating. The one thing that could be better is the breakfast room. It could use more space and gets crowded when it's busy.

The setting was lovely, with vineyards from our balcony and a little stream running nearby. Parking was good, with a reasonably priced garage. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean, and the breakfast buffet was adequate: fresh rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, coffee, tea, eggs, and scrambled eggs. The television in the breakfast room was always showing the news, which was a drawback. We hardly saw anyone around. It felt a bit like a ghost hotel, though that may have been because of the time of day. There was no one to check us in, so we got the code for the key box over the phone. There was no reception or other staff to be found, and the stairwell air was stuffy, almost unpleasant. Checkout was just a matter of locking the door and leaving the key on the table in front of the reception area. The bathroom was the worst part. It was tiny, and the shower entrance was so narrow that even someone of average build would struggle to get in. If anything fell in there, you risked banging your head or bottom. Anyone with a bit more body mass couldn't wash properly in that shower. It was unacceptable. Room service didn't show up until the second day, so the room wasn't cleaned that first morning. Because of all this, we wouldn't book here again.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were efficient and quick to help. We were a group of 25, and check-in went smoothly. They suggested splitting breakfast into two groups since several other guests were arriving. We did that as much as we could, though there was still some waiting. It's good to be considerate, especially when you see how helpful the staff are. Thank you.

The location is lovely, the rooms are well equipped, there's private underground parking, and breakfast is delicious. What spoiled the welcome was the manager's treatment of guests. We'd already paid in advance, but when we arrived, several extra costs were suddenly listed that hadn't been mentioned beforehand. He showed no understanding or willingness to help. Such a shame, and not a pleasant arrival.
