Bergwaldchalets Wellness

We loved our week in the Harz Mountains, and Wellness Chalet No. 5 was wonderful. The house, location, and high-end furnishings were all impressive, especially the kitchen appliances and sauna. We barely needed to bring any consumables. We only missed a pen, but thankfully got one quickly ;) The one star we took off was for the noise from the neighbors, which can be quite loud. We were lucky in a way, since the screaming toddler in the chalet next door was only there for 3 of our 6 days. They got up very early, so we had to catch up on rest with a nap or by escaping downstairs to the sauna ;) Maybe the soundproofing could be improved. With quiet neighbors, this would really be a clear 5/5 🥰 One small issue was reported directly to the manager, but the caretaker still hadn't come by by day 3. We chose not to fix it ourselves and didn't use the chair. Thanks so much for the lovely week 🥰

The hiking starts for Brocken or cross-country skiing are only a short walk away. We also recommend the Italian restaurant in the village. Our winter holiday was wonderful, with plenty of time to relax by the fireplace in this charming chalet. It's quietly set on a side street, the furnishings are superb, and the owner answered our questions promptly.

The trails start right outside these lovely chalets in the middle of Schierke, with routes to Brocken, Schnarcherklippen, Ahrentsklint, and plenty more. There's also a good Italian restaurant less than a five-minute walk away.

We and our dog felt very comfortable in the house and would gladly return. Everything was well organized, from booking and picking up the keys to departure. It was well maintained and furnished to a high standard. We stayed over Christmas, so couldn't make full use of the outdoor terrace, though its complete roof still made it a comfortable place to sit when the weather wasn't ideal.
