The German food was really nice, and sledges were available to rent for €7. It was very crowded, even though we went for a late lunch around 2 pm.

For a weekend walk, this is a great spot. The route from the parking area to Obere Fristalm takes some effort, but it’s manageable if you keep a relaxed, steady pace. A nice way to enjoy the outdoors without pushing yourself too hard.

Dinner has some very good options, and breakfast was delicious too. The staff were really friendly, and getting here by train is easy. The location is very good.

We had two children and a dog with us, and the comfortable rooms and good service suited us perfectly. It’s a beautiful spot for an overnight stop while hiking.
