There was dust and spiders in every corner, and old-looking flyers were scattered everywhere. We got just one towel per person and a single piece of toilet paper for the whole stay. The breakfast was a joke: one egg, one slice of cheese, one slice of ham per person, plus some jam, and the same thing every day. The room had little beyond a bed and bath: no kettle, TV, fridge, or table, just one chair, and not even a bathtub plug. A hairdryer had been promised, but it smelled bad and there was nowhere to plug it in in the bathroom.

We were greeted warmly, and the rooms have a historic, almost museum-like feel. There are chickens in the garden, though we never heard them. The setting is quiet and idyllic, and the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast included and didn’t miss having a kitchenette or anything else we might need. The room floor was still a little dusty. We were allowed to check in early in the morning, so that may have overlapped with cleaning. After cycling and hiking, it probably wouldn’t have stayed clean for long anyway.

The parking was tricky with a large car. You might fit two large cars and perhaps a small one, but it gets very tight. We stayed in room number 3, which was small, as was the bathroom, though both were sufficient for us. Breakfast was adequate, and the bed was comfortable and warm. It’s a beautiful old half-timbered house.
