The daily sheet of information about events and outings was a real help whatever the weather, and the Maier family added plenty of personal suggestions. The bus stop is right nearby, and from the center you can catch buses in every direction every half hour, free with the guest card. Salzburg costs a small extra fare, and our car got a holiday too. Restaurants with a good range of choices are just 2-5 minutes away on foot. We stayed in room No. 10, which was clean, nicely furnished, and had a balcony looking toward Jenner. The house is small and family-run, in a peaceful spot at the edge of town, about a 10-minute walk from the center. My partner picked well. Breakfast isn't a buffet, but there's still very little you'd want that isn't there, and they do their best to meet requests. The value for money is excellent. If we come back to the Berchtesgaden region, Landhaus Maltermoos will be our first choice.

There's lots to do around Schönau, and it's easy to get to different places from here. We've been coming to the country house every year since 2011 and always feel at home. It's very family-friendly, the rooms and apartments are lovely, and breakfast is generous and delicious. In the evenings, it's nice to sit outside and relax with the other guests. It's a shame they no longer serve dinner. We always really enjoyed the food.

We keep coming back because the hosts are so warm and welcoming, and the value is excellent. The rooms are cozy and traditionally styled, and the lake is within walking distance. This is a great way to stay in the Berchtesgaden region.

We had a wonderful holiday here. The guesthouse has a lovely mountain view, and everything was clean, with daily cleaning. The family were very friendly and always up for a chat. They also had great suggestions for things to do. Many thanks, Maier family.
