We loved the quiet country setting, with fresh air, a little café, and plenty of space for children to roam safely, well away from the main road. From our balcony we could enjoy the night sky and see lots of chickens. We stayed in a small turquoise family room with a warm, charming feel, and it was very clean. My husband especially liked the furniture quality and design. It’s a large farm with cows, pigs, chickens, and friendly horses. The room and bathroom both had floor heating, which kept things pleasantly and steadily warm. There were four different bins for sorting rubbish, and we were given a bottle of apple juice made, apparently, from local apples. A pleasant spot for one night or longer if you want to unwind in nature.

A great place just outside town, and it suits families and backpackers alike. Our lovely host Nikolai welcomed us with a fresh bottle of organic apple juice from the farm and two local beers.

We only stopped by the farm shop, and it was lovely, with a great selection and perfectly reasonable prices. They also sell Demeter raw milk. It’s a shame the shop is so far away, or we’d go there regularly.

We’re really happy with our weekly farm box delivery from Medewege. The fruit and vegetables are always fresh and top quality. You can check and change your order on their website a few days ahead. We also regularly get baked goods from the mill bakery, cheese, and dairy products. The cheese and dairy cost no more than organic products at the supermarket, either.

There’s a nice café further into this lovely, large farm, open by midday at the latest, and a little farther on you can pet sheep, goats, and rabbits. Near the entrance is a small farm shop with all sorts of things, from Andechser Lassi to typical sodas and yogurts. They also sell their own eggs, which is great. There’s a play area for children, too. Very nicely done and definitely worth a visit.
