Courtyard by Marriott Schwerin

The reception area is lovely and cozy, and parking and getting in were both easy. This courtyard-style hotel sits conveniently between Hamburg and Berlin. The service was warm and attentive, and the place was clean and reasonably well maintained. It’s being renovated at the moment.

Our E-bikes were kept in a locked room inside the hotel, which was handy. We had a spacious, new-looking room with a large bathroom and walk-in shower; the beds were excellent and the air conditioning worked well. If you skip room cleaning for a day, you can choose a voucher for a free drink.

I felt very welcome here. Ilo and Bernd from Front Office deserve special thanks. The breakfast buffet was very good, and the employees were so friendly. The city is lovely too.

This is a cozy, family-friendly place with modern interiors that fit Courtyard standards. It used to be an NH hotel and seems to have changed owners recently; some exterior work is still underway. The buffet has plenty of hot and cold choices, and the rooms are roomy, clean, and tidy. TV, AC, and WiFi all worked well, and the staff were friendly. The doors, including the bathroom door, didn’t always close properly, and the walls are thin enough that corridor conversations and slamming room doors carry. It’s well outside the city, near a large shopping mall, but easy to reach by car from the main road nearby. Public transport runs only during regular daytime hours, as is common in smaller German towns.
