A year after my stay, the business tried to get my review removed by threatening a defamation claim. I showed my receipt and got the review reinstated. Businesses in Germany should take responsibility for poor service instead of challenging reviews with Google and hoping they disappear. I’ve changed my rating from two stars to one because of that. The location is very central, and there’s parking. Our room was large, clean and tidy, with plenty of cupboards and a big bed. Check-in and leaving were easy. There were a lot of problems, though. The main entrance couldn’t be used because of construction, but there was no sign directing guests to the new entrance around the corner. My partner hit his head hard on the low ceiling of the stairs. The receptionist just said “op-lah,” without asking if he was okay or warning us about the ceiling. A little kindness would have helped, especially when we’d just arrived. The large bed was actually two small mattresses pushed together, and both sagged badly in the middle. I woke up with a sore back. The generic polyester bedding was cheap and uncomfortable, with no breathability. The cleaning lady knocked at 9:40 am even though checkout was at 11. We were told by email that construction meant breakfast wouldn’t be available, but nothing said there’d be loud drilling and hammering from the first floor all morning. And for 89Euros a night, there wasn’t even shampoo.
