AKZENT Hotel Torgauer Hof

The hotel is near sterncenter and Kaufland, and the room sizes are fine. There isn't round-the-clock service, but they do have set hours and were genuinely helpful. The smoke detector was an issue, though. One of my colleagues was charged a hefty amount after the alarm went off while he was putting bread in the oven.

The small kitchen might suit someone wanting to cook something quickly, but the place smells of food, probably because of it. Rooms are small and weren't clean enough, and breakfast is ordinary. Prices are quite high, too.

There are bus stops, a pharmacy, grocery shops and places to eat nearby, and the location is convenient. The rooms are nice, with kitchenettes in some of them. The staff left me unhappy, though. A friend lost a room key and they were rude, acting as if he'd lost it on purpose. They could use some lessons in politeness. Their new internet access policy is awful too. Sometimes the code doesn't arrive on non-German SIM cards, and when we contacted the staff, they washed their hands of it.

The bathrooms were clean, if a little small, and the breakfast was okay. The breakfast room is small and gets crowded easily. I enjoyed my stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a TV, cooking area, and fridge.
