Hotel Jägerhaus

We couldn’t sleep all night in room 23 because of the condition of the room. It smelled unpleasant, like tea bags left out for hours. The bathroom had serious water problems: the temperature wouldn’t adjust properly, and the floor was so dirty it felt unhygienic to step on. Parking wasn’t available, so we had to leave the car on the road outside. The Booking.com photos were super misleading. If we’d been staying more than one night, we would have changed hotels as soon as we arrived around 10 PM. This was by far my worst accommodation experience, and I urge management to address the hygiene and maintenance issues immediately. The room in its current state is NOT suitable for guests. Update: The owner called and asked us to delete the review. This is what happened to us, and we’re sharing it for others. We don’t care whether the owner has been in business for 10 years or 50, as he mentioned. We just expect the rooms to be in proper condition when we arrive.

Both the sink and shower were clogged, so water just sat there and wouldn’t drain properly. The floor was sticky and stained, and I had to keep my shoes on to walk around. The bench was filthy too, covered in grime and old marks that made me feel sick. This place is revolting and not fit to be a hotel. I can’t believe they charge for this level of filth. It’s a disgrace and should be shut down for hygiene reasons. Even zero stars would be too generous. Avoid it at all costs.

All three rooms we booked were dirty and in bad shape, so it wasn’t just a one-off. They smelled awful, the floors were sticky, the water glasses dusty, and the furniture hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was a stained, smudged bench, a faulty shower faucet that was hard to use, and corridors with dust, stains, and smudges. The sink light had exposed wiring in the bathroom, which is a serious safety risk. The walls were thin, and loud thumping from the floor above kept us from sleeping. I think the floors may be wooden. The photos on Google and Booking.com showed nice rooms, but that wasn’t what we got. We paid €70+ for a single room and €90+ for a double. That’s outrageous. I’m not sure why other reviews say otherwise. We arrived late, and the self-check-in kiosk didn’t work well. We didn’t expect reception to be staffed, but the phone number listed on Booking.com went unanswered. After wandering around for about 30 minutes, we found a staff member who helped us. Owners, please don’t delete reviews. Please take this seriously and clean the hotel. People pay their hard-earned money hoping for a nice stay, and charging for an unhygienic place feels inhumane. 🙏 Update: The owner just called asking me to delete this review. I said no. Let’s see if it gets deleted. Update 2: The hotel has “cancelled” our booking, saying we didn’t show up. That could make any review we leave look invalid. I contacted Booking.com customer support, and they said they had contacted the hotel but couldn’t verify our claim. 🤷‍♂️

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast service was excellent, the location was good, and the view was very nice. ❤️
