Ferienhaus Astrid Lindgren

The owner is so kind, and everything was great. Excellent accommodation, a 10 out of 10.

We liked the layout of apartment 3. It was clean, had lots of storage, and felt more spacious than other apartments. But the communication with the landlord was a one-star experience, and we’ve never started a holiday feeling so uneasy. There was no payment confirmation, no reply to emails, and the landlord’s mobile number couldn’t be reached. We also got no information about when we could move in, despite telling them which ferry we’d arrive on. The on-site manager didn’t know anything either, so we couldn’t get into the apartment until 5 pm. We agree with other reviews that the exterior needs renovation, and the soundproofing is poor. The living room and kitchen also feel cold underfoot and chilly in the mornings. A rug like the one in the pictures would help.

We found the location ideal for exploring Spiekeroog, with the spa park next door. The swimming pool, tourist information center, coffee roastery, shops, and island railway are all an easy walk away. We were lucky to book at the last minute for a short visit in May 2025, and meeting the owner was a pleasure. He welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. Our apartment had what we needed: simple, clean, functional, and tastefully furnished. It also had internet, magazines, and toys for children, making it comfortable for a family even if the weather isn’t great. Thanks again for the help and warm welcome.

We had everything we needed for our one-night stay on Spiekeroog, including a kitchen, seating area, and bathroom. The apartment was lovely and clean, and I’d definitely recommend it. The only small hiccup was the smoke alarm going off in the middle of the night.
