The stay itself went well. My husband and I came with his parents for four nights and had two rooms. They were clean, the internet worked, and there’s inexpensive parking nearby. The elevator mattered for my father-in-law, and the breakfasts were really good. Customer service during the stay was also good. The problem came after checkout. On June 26th, the hotel charged us 176€ more than the price agreed in my Booking.com app, on top of any room service or parking charges we owed. I checked the app and my records, then called the hotel that day. After some discussion, they acknowledged the mistake, apologized, and verbally agreed to refund the 176€ to my credit card. They never sent written confirmation. We were told the refund might take a while, so we waited before following up. My husband emailed on July 9th to ask when we would get the money, but received no written reply. After he called on July 10th, they said it had already been transferred, although nothing had reached our bank account. He emailed again on July 15th and still got no written response. By then, nearly three weeks had passed since we overpaid. I posted an honest account of the problem on July 16th. The refund appeared in our account the next day. Then the hotel sent me a message through the Booking.com app threatening legal action for defamation because of my review. They also called my review “unacceptable German,” even though I had written it in English. That felt ignorant and insolent. In my view, buyers should be wary. They kept harassing us over an honest review, and I can only guess whether they have threatened other guests too. It makes me question their positive reviews as well. A business that tries to silence customers with legal threats over fair criticism seems very suspect to me. After I reviewed them, they said they wanted my family and me to stay away, as if we were the ones threatening them. We have no intention of giving them our money again. I’ve never had such a disturbing experience with a hotel.
