This was about the worst stay we could imagine. In the evening, with the temperature well below zero outside, the heating stopped and didn’t come back on until the next day. We nearly had to sleep in the car, and the water wasn’t warm enough either. In the morning, we politely asked the “boss,” as she called herself, about the heating in German, and she literally laughed in our faces. At breakfast, we had a few questions in a mix of English and German. The “boss lady” started shouting and ranting that she wouldn’t speak English because we were in Germany, then told us to “zahlen und gehen, auf wiedersehen” (her words). The other guests were also complaining about the temperature and water. After all that, I hate to say it, but I felt we were treated differently because we were foreigners.

The area was quiet, the people were friendly, and the rooms were nice. Still, against all expectations, there wasn’t a single pretzel to be found!.. o.O"

We spent seven days at the guesthouse, where Mrs. Oehme gave us a very warm welcome and great outing tips from the start. Wehlen is centrally located, so the sights are easy to reach. The rooms were spotless and completely quiet, and breakfast was lovely and more than enough. We’ll definitely come back.

We had comfortable, good-sized rooms and everything was clean. Breakfast had everything we needed, and the guesthouse has parking plus seating where you can enjoy a drink in the evening. Its location was ideal for day trips, especially our two days of hiking. We’d happily stay here again if we’re in Saxony.
