Gasthaus Zum Hirschen

I had a good time here. The black forest cake was very nice, and the coffee was fine. Service came a little late, but the city had a festival about its history that day, so I can understand. People from around the area told me this place is very typical when I mentioned having coffee and cake there. If you can get a seat outside, that's the best spot.

A small thing to keep in mind: Google Maps points to parking right beside the hotel, which is correct, but the sign saying the road was for pedestrians only was confusing. The smaller print says cars going to a hotel are allowed too. The hotel employees were extremely helpful, the service was great, and the quaint rooms were in a perfect old-town location.

We ate delicious food in a traditional hall, and the service was friendly. Comfortable and clean, right in the center of pretty Staufen.

Our balcony was lovely, the fridge was a nice extra, and the hotel was very pet-friendly. The staff were great, the rooms were comfortable with plenty of space to work, and the bathroom had been completely redone. It's a traditional, family-run German hotel, and having dedicated parking was a real help. Breakfast was just fine, though we only had it once. The real problem was the utterly terrible, more or less unusable wifi. We had to go to a friend's house to get any work done, which was annoying. We'd love to stay again, but can't until they get proper Internet.
